Student sponsored to attend the 2013 Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington DC

The Dorothy Irene Height Education Foundation paid for Jayla Beidleman to attend the 2013 Junior National Young Leaders Conference(JrNYLC) in Washington DC which was held earlier this year.  The JrNYLC offers mature, high-achieving middle school students the opportunity to learn about leadership by studying the leaders of the past and by focusing on social advocacy to make a positive impact in their homes and communities. Each session of JrNYLC is designed to educate, inspire, and motivate students by giving them the confidence and leadership skills that will take them through high school and beyond.

The DIHE Foundation received a thank you letter from Miss Beidleman, dated July 16, 2013, in appreciation of our support.

“Dear Dorothy I. Height Foundation,

I want to thank you for your generous support in sponsoring me and making it possible for me to attend the 2013 Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, DC.  I learned so much from this tremendous educational experience.

Thank you again for what was a life-changing experience for me.

Sincerely,

Jayla Beidleman”
